Vicki Whyde has worked at Jet AirWerks for 3 years and takes pride in the speed and accuracy of her work in our machine shop.
Before completing her Associates with a certificate in Machine Tool Technology, she worked as a hairstylist and receptionist.
In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband and kids, watch or read thrillers, and go riding and shooting.
We asked Vicki some questions to learn more about her.
My days are pretty crazy… I clock in, grab the RAILS (we usually have 3) from Kelsey, find out what takes priority for the day. Then I head back to the shop, get the CNC going, shrouds on (if we have them). If we don't have shrouds I work on Links, seals, blade retainers, maybe a sleeve, or maybe OGVs. If we don't have any of those I replace inserts (the list goes on and on). Lunch is somewhere in there, oh, and a couple of breaks and some smack talking to the boys (but it's all in good fun).
I chose JAW because I had a friend that said it was a good place to work. I’d say he was right.
Don't give up, give it time. It may seem hard at first, but nothing is ever as hard as it seems.
It helps me see a better view of things. "Take your time, make it shine".
I can sew, I can do body work on cars and cut/color hair.
Suicide and cancer awareness.
To not sweat the small stuff. Life is short. Enjoy it while you can.
I would hope they remembered me being fun and crazy. That I laughed a lot and didn’t take everything too seriously (unless it needed to be). I want to be remembered as being easy to get along with and not one to fight with others, or start fights, but also didn’t get pushed around.
It is what it is.
